This is Bananas!

This summer was all about Banana leaf and Palm Prints. Ughhhh I went crazy for these prints. I am obsessed with Martinique Banana Leaf wallpaper, which was created by decorator Don Loper in 1942 for the Beverly Hills Hotel, and is now an iconic wallpaper. Dorothy Draper has her own take on the print, Brazilliance by Carleton V…..you can tell the slight difference (sea grapes 😉 )

Pretty Please

Melbourne based interior designer Travis Walton and his team did wonders on this whimsical lavish lounge, Pretty Please in Melbourne, Australia.  Jungle-esque foliage on the walls, velvet upholstery, hot pink tones, and neon lighting transforms this into an Alice and wonderland vibe. I adore this wallpaper and being surrounded by a whimsical jungle sets the mood for their guests.  The dark nestled lounge seating makes for the perfect intimate luxurious setting! I love a place with dim lighting bouncing off brass and chrome accents! xoHOH

Roman and Williams

Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, creative geniuses and the designers behind some of the most unique interiors. This duo created wonders in NYC and some of my favorite places to visit! If you love them as much as I do, read their book, Things We Made.

Screen Shot 2013-02-21 at 9.58.50 PM First Favorite on my list:

Boom Boom Room, Meatpacking District, New York City

This is breathtaking! I love everything about this 70’s style lounge. Creme and brass accents sputnik lighting, GORGEOUS!

Second Favorite, Ace Hotel, New York City

The Industrial vibe is also a favorite of mine. Brick, metal, mixed woods and tufted velvet 🙂

And my third favorite, The Royalton Hotel, New York City

I love this modern sophisticated hotel, the monochromatic color scheme and all textures give  it an eclectic feeling.

Please check out more of Roman and Williams work -Stumpton Coffee, John Dory Oyster Bar, The Dutch, The Standard Grill. xoHOH

Incorporating Malachite

During the 70’s, in the midst of the geode craze Malachite and interiors morphed together to create the most luxurious combination I have yet to see.  In my opinion Tony Duquette is the man to thank, from his fabrics, flooring, dishes, and even book covers he embellished them in Malachite.  If you have an old chair or a bare wall you would love to liven up you can find this print on Spoonflower  xHOH

Masculinity at its finest

Although today is Valentines, which I believe to be a more of a female holiday myself, Im going to focus on the MEN. The more I love interiors the more I find myself growing to love the “man cave” vibe. Currently I have two burgundy chesterfield sofas and a cowhide rug in my living room, this reek’s of masculinity. I believe that every doll has her masculine side too!  The photos I am posting are from Château de Fleury, a chateau an hour outside of Paris.  I love the old world vibe and masculinity of this interior!  Enjoy! And Happy Valentines! xHOH

Glorious Green.

I’m absolutely crazy about green. Whats not to love?? Although to some the immediate association with vomit comes to mind, THINK NOT! Its the color of the century..duh… Kelly green a.k.a. Glorious brightens any room and adds the perfect pop of color. From a green wall to a green lacquered table it makes a statement! Green plays a role in the fashion world too, throw on a pair of green flats to brighten up your outfit!!

MEEEEPPPP...i love this door
